Severe Weather Alert: Storms and Hail
The yellow alert issued on Wednesday affects the northern areas of Buenos Aires province. It also includes regions in Entre Ríos, Corrientes, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Santiago del Estero, San Luis, La Rioja, Tucumán, Salta, and Jujuy.
This alert warns of storms of varying intensities, with some being locally strong or severe. Expect heavy rainfall in short bursts, frequent lightning, hail, and strong winds.
Predicted rainfall accumulation ranges from 20 to 60 mm, with localized areas possibly exceeding this amount.
In Santa Fe, Córdoba, and Santiago del Estero, the alert level is upgraded to orange. In these areas, there will be locally strong or severe storms accompanied by powerful winds, frequent lightning, hail of different sizes, and significant rainfall over short periods.
For these regions, rainfall is expected to accumulate between 60 and 90 mm, with localized areas potentially exceeding this.

The National Meteorological Service advises the following precautions:
- Do not take out the trash. Remove objects that may obstruct water drainage.
- Avoid outdoor activities.
- Do not seek shelter near trees or electric poles that could fall.
- To reduce the risk of lightning strikes, stay away from beaches, rivers, lakes, or pools.
- Stay alert for possible hail.
- Stay informed through authorities. Prepare an emergency backpack with a flashlight, radio, important documents, and a phone.
