NBA Finals Fashion: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tyrese Haliburton Bring Style to the Court
updated June 14, 2025
Cameras flashed as Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton arrived for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, debuting his signature Puma Hali 1 sneakers designed by Salehe Bembury in a hibiscus colorway.
Shortly after, Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the league MVP, entered wearing light blue-tinted sunglasses, a gray shirt jacket, and his “Masi Blue” SHAI 001 Converses, accessorized with a Chanel cross-body bag.

“Shai’s been doing it as he came to the league,” Haliburton said, acknowledging Gilgeous-Alexander as the “undisputed king of NBA fashion.”
While focused on winning a championship, Gilgeous-Alexander and Haliburton are also showcasing their unique styles, bringing a haute couture feel to the NBA Finals.

Following in the footsteps of Russell Westbrook, James Harden, and Serge Ibaka, Gilgeous-Alexander, along with teammates Jalen Williams and Chet holmgren, is helping Oklahoma City reclaim its status as the NBA’s fashion capital.
“OKC is a legendary tunnel with Russ and what Shai’s doing,” Haliburton noted.
Westbrook, known for his bold fashion choices, even sewed his own ripped jeans. Gilgeous-Alexander now carries the NBA’s unofficial fashion crown.
“Shai is acknowledged pretty widely as the reigning king of NBA style,” said Sam Schube, formerly GQ’s sports director. “He’s the guy who’s really picked up the mantle from LeBron [James], Allen Iverson, Dwyane Wade and Russ.”
Gilgeous-Alexander’s fashion sense is unique, incorporating high-end brands like Chanel into his game-day attire.
Westbrook, now with the Denver Nuggets, still shares style tips and outfits his teammates, emphasizing affordable fashion.
Gilgeous-Alexander has walked the runway in Thom Browne’s show at Paris Men’s Fashion Week and is Converse Basketball’s creative director.
“The European Fashion Week trip has become kind of a box to check if you’re a pro athlete,” Schube said. “But it’s hard to remember guys walking in a Thom Browne show outside of Shai.”
Gilgeous-Alexander plans his outfits meticulously, even debuting new colorways of his converse shoes each round of the playoffs.
Like Westbrook, Harden, and Ibaka before him, Gilgeous-Alexander is leading a new wave of fashion-conscious players in Oklahoma City.
What’s next
As the NBA Finals continue, expect both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tyrese Haliburton to keep pushing the boundaries of style, influencing the next generation of NBA fashion.
