Shakeup Behind Bars: Missérété Prison Governor Fired in Shocking Move
Missérété Civilian Prison Manager Relieved of Duties
Codjo Gaston Totohou, the manager of the Missérété civilian prison, has been relieved of his duties due to a mobile phone found in a prisoner’s cell.
Reckya Madougou, a prisoner at the Akpro-Missérété civil prison, was discovered to be in possession of a mobile phone, allowing her to communicate with outsiders. The device’s discovery led to the manager’s dismissal, as he is primarily responsible for the remand centre’s security.
Codjo Gaston Totohou, who previously held managerial positions at the civil prisons of Parakou and Lokossa, has been replaced. Additionally, all police officers employed to guard the prisoner have been placed under strict arrest.
According to detention standards, prisoners are not permitted to possess mobile phones, highlighting the severity of the situation.
