Shakira Cancels worldpride Concert Due to Tour Complications

Shakira’s planned performance at teh WorldPride Welcome Concert at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., will not take place. Organizers announced the cancellation, citing logistical problems stemming from an earlier scrapped show in Boston.
Nationals Park officials stated that transporting Shakira’s full tour production to Washington in time for the Saturday concert proved impossible. Automatic refunds will be issued to those who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster and nationals.com.
The four-time Grammy winner expressed her regret in a statement. “Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am sad and heartbroken that I will not be able to be in Washington, D.C. with you tomorrow,” shakira said. “I hope that I can come back to D.C.,as soon as I am able.Meanwhile,please know that I am eternally thankful for your unconditional support.”
Earlier in the week, Shakira’s “Women no longer cry” concert at fenway Park in Boston was also canceled hours before the doors were scheduled to open.
