The complaint, lodged in Clark County, Nevada, on April 20, 2025, by attorney Tony Buzbee, details harrowing accusations against the popular podcast host and ESPN personality. According to the filing, the alleged incidents of rape occurred in October 2024 and January 2025. The lawsuit further claims that Sharpe subjected the plaintiff to physical and emotional abuse.
The plaintiff, later identified by Sharpe’s legal team as Gabriella Zuniga, a former OnlyFans model, reportedly met Sharpe at a gym in 2023. the lawsuit suggests that Sharpe’s alleged abusive behavior began after he was caught cheating on Instagram Live with a woman named ”Michelle.”
Shannon Sharpe, through his legal counsel Lanny J.Davis,has vehemently denied all allegations. Davis characterized the lawsuit as a “blatant and cynical attempt to shake down” Sharpe for a ample sum of money. Sharpe’s legal team asserts that the relationship with Zuniga was consensual and that the lawsuit is “filled with lies, distortions and misrepresentations.”
In a significant advancement, Sharpe’s legal team revealed that a consensual sexual encounter between Sharpe and zuniga was videotaped without Sharpe’s knowledge or consent. Furthermore, Sharpe’s legal team released alleged text messages that appear to depict a relationship involving role-play and explicit communication.
In response to these revelations, Zuniga’s attorney countered by releasing an audio clip that allegedly captures Sharpe threatening the plaintiff.

Shannon Sharpe himself addressed the situation directly via an Instagram post. He accused Zuniga and her legal counsel of orchestrating a “shakedown” to extort tens of millions from him. Sharpe declared his intention to file a defamation lawsuit against both Zuniga and Buzbee.
