Shapovalov and Diallo Advance to BMW Open Round of 16

Canada’s Denis Shapovalov has advanced to the second round of the BMW Open in Munich after defeating eighth-seeded Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands on April 14, 2026.

Shapovalov secured the victory with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-2. The win ensures that two Canadians have progressed into the Round of 16 at the ATP 500 clay-court tournament, as Shapovalov joins fellow countryman Gabriel Diallo in the next stage of the competition.
