Shaquille O’Neal recently explained the reason behind his hasty exit during a live broadcast of TNT’s Inside The NBA. The basketball legend’s sudden departure sparked laughter among his co-hosts Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson, and the clip quickly went viral.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, O’Neal shared his side of the story regarding the bathroom emergency. He initially downplayed the incident.
“I was drinking a lot of water that day, so I know I had the No. 2 run, but it was really a No. 1, let’s just get that out the way,” O’Neal saeid, also mentioning his consumption of olive oil.
Fallon then inquired,”What is going on? And why were you drinking olive oil?”
O’Neal confessed he was trying a new health trend. “I’m drinking olive oil because I want to be sexy. That’s what it said on instagram,it said if you drink olive oil for 14 days,it’ll clear stuff out and you’ll get yourself a flat stomach,” O’Neal said. ”So, I was trying it.”
Though, Shaq then admitted he hadn’t been entirely truthful with Fallon. The truth was more urgent.
“It wasn’t a No. 1 run, it was a No. 2 run. I had to go bad. Oh, I had to go so bad! I had to go so bad,” Shaq said.
He even added, “Did you see me squeeze my butt cheeks when I was running?”
Fallon then displayed a photo showing that Inside the NBA producers had placed a portable toilet next to O’Neal’s desk as a precaution for future broadcasts.
Fallon praised the unpredictability of the sports show. “I like it because I never know what’s going to happen,” Fallon said. ”Nothing’s predictable.”
