Sharjah police, Environmental Agency⁢ Collaborate on Coastal Security and Sustainability

Sharjah, UAE – Sharjah Police and ⁤the Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA) have announced a strengthened partnership focused⁤ on enhancing coastal security and ​promoting marine sustainability within the emirate. the collaboration⁤ aims to address challenges ⁢related‍ to illegal fishing, environmental violations, and overall safety along Sharjah’s coastline.

The initiative was formalized‌ during⁢ a recent meeting attended by Brigadier Arif Al Shamsi, Director⁤ General of Police Operations at sharjah Police; Colonel Omar Abdullah al Naqbi, Director of the Maritime Police Department; Brigadier Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al-Naqbi, Director of Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science, and Head of⁢ Security Liaison; Colonel Jaber Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director of‍ the ​Executive Office⁤ at Sharjah Police; and Abdul ⁣Aziz Salem Al suwaidi, Director of Marine Sustainability at ⁤the EPAA.

According to a statement released by Sharjah Police, the partnership will involve joint patrols, details sharing, and coordinated responses to incidents impacting the marine environment. ‌ Specific areas of focus include combating illegal fishing practices, preventing pollution, and protecting vulnerable marine ecosystems.

The EPAA will contribute its expertise in marine conservation and ⁣environmental monitoring, while Sharjah Police will provide security resources and enforcement capabilities. The collaboration also seeks to raise public ‌awareness about responsible marine practices and the importance of preserving sharjah’s coastal heritage.

“This partnership represents a‌ significant step ‍towards safeguarding our marine resources and ensuring‍ the safety and security of our coastline,” stated Brigadier Al Shamsi. Al Suwaidi added that the EPAA is⁣ committed to ⁤working closely with law enforcement to protect the⁤ emirate’s biodiversity and promote enduring use of marine resources.
