What Happens to the Souls of Animals After Death?
Dr. Al-Said Saeed Al-Sharqawi, assistant lecturer at Al-Azhar University, raised the issue of the souls of animals and their fate after death and the Day of Resurrection with the souls of non-humans, such as birds, animals and other things, with two opinions.
The first view said that he who receives their souls is the angel of death, as he receives the souls of all animals He says that he who receives the souls of animals, birds and the like is himself omnipotent. “There is no clear evidence on this, neither from the Qur’an nor from the Sunnah of the Prophet, and it is a matter of ijtihad and there is a difference between them.”
As for the other side of the question of where the souls of animals will be on the Day of Judgement, Al-Sharqawi said, in a video clip he had previously posted on his official Facebook page, that scholars differ on its meaning. Here also two views are coming together, and some of them said that it means death, so it ends with death and there will be no resurrection and you will not be brought together and therefore you will not be asked or held accountable. The second group, they said. That, coming together means, you will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection like humans, and they supported this with two prophetic hadiths from which they understood that they will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection and will be asked. responsible
The professor of al-Azhar mentions that the first of these two hadiths is that the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, saw two sheep bending over, so he said: O Abu Dhar, do you know what they are? Butting about? He said: No, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: But Allah knows and He will judge between them, that is, He will raise them both on the Day of Resurrection and judge between them.
As for the second hadith, it was narrated from Uthman (may God be pleased with him) that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Sheep, i.e. sheep that do not. have horns, to take revenge against the horned, which means that God will take away their rights from them because they are harsher and stronger than them, Al-Sharqawi says, God Almighty will gather all creatures on the Day of Resurrection, and He will take revenge from the hornless sheep. Almighty God’s justice will prevail and then He will say to the animals, “Become dust, the disbelievers want to be dust on the Day of Resurrection.” .
