Intisar: Absolutely. Growing up, my mother was not very physically affectionate, and expressing love verbally was something she struggled with. While it was tough at times, I’ve come to see it as a source of strength. It taught me resilience. However, as an adult, I realize just how much I miss those hugs.
Interviewer: That’s a powerful reflection. How do you approach your relationship with your children in light of your experiences?
Intisar: My love for my children is profound; they are everything to me. However, I have to confess that I’ve unconsciously preferred my sons over my daughters. I believe that sons carry on the family name and have a role as leaders, while daughters, traditionally, weave into their husbands’ families after marriage. It’s a belief that reflects societal norms but one I’m continually reevaluating.

I’ve reported several issues arising from this online behaviour. It’s not just about me; I’ve received many reports concerning young women facing similar challenges. I truly care about their well-being and want to see them thrive.
