Shin Yu-bin Secures Thrilling Victory Against Du Hoi Kem in WTT Champions Montpellier 2024
Shin Yu-bin, ranked 9th in the world, achieved a thrilling 3-2 victory against Du Hoi Kem, ranked 38th, in the women’s singles round of 16 at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Champions Montpellier 2024 held in Montpellier, France.
The match saw Shin Yu-bin lose the first two games 9-11, 9-11, but she made a remarkable comeback, winning the next three games 11-7, 11-3, and 11-9.
Shin Yu-bin had previously faced Du Hoi Kem three times and lost all of them. However, she created an opportunity for a turnaround by securing her first victory against Du Hoi Kem in this competition.
The turning point of the match came in game 3, where Shin Yu-bin was down 2-5 but managed to turn the game around by scoring 6 points. She then dominated game 4, scoring five consecutive points from the start and winning 11-3.
The final game was intense, with both players tied at 9-9. However, Shin Yu-bin scored two consecutive points to win the game 11-9 and secure the match.
