Shin Yu-bin, the national table tennis player, continues to receive love calls from the food industry as an advertising model. Her popularity, which was sparked by her ‘Mukbang’ at the Paris 2024 Olympics, shows no signs of fading.
Dongwon F&B has chosen Shin Yu-bin as the model for their ‘Grillly’ refrigerated ham brand. Grillly is a refrigerated ham brand launched in 2022, characterized by its rich juiciness and fiery aroma. According to Dongwon F&B, Shin Yu-bin was chosen as an advertising model because her passionate appearance at the Paris Olympics matches Grillly’s brand identity of pursuing rich meat and spicy flavor.
Shin Yu-bin’s mukbang, which became a hot topic on social networking services (SNS) during the Paris 2024 Olympics, is also featured in the advertisement for Grillly. The advertisement, which will be released on the 13th, shows Shin Yu-bin enjoying Grillly with a big smile, or eating the product while training or at different times in her daily life.
An official from Dongwon F&B stated, “We expect a positive synergy effect by choosing Shin Yu-bin, who has excellent skills and a warm heart, as the advertising model for Grillly.” The company plans to release follow-up videos, including an interview video with Shin Yu-bin and a making-of film showing the video production process.
Shin Yu-bin’s popularity as an advertising model has driven sales for various brands. She was previously chosen as the model for Binggrae’s ‘Banana Flavored Milk’ and became the representative face of the new product ‘Piyak Shin Yu-bin’s Snack Time’ released in collaboration with convenience store GS25. According to GS25, two types of Piyak Shin Yubin snack time rice balls sold a total of 220,000 units over four days, while two types of Cup Deli containing soft boiled eggs sold around 30,000 units during the same period.
