Shining a Light on Sustainability: Makkah Health Cluster Unveils Groundbreaking Energy Efficiency Project at King Faisal Hospital in Partnership with Tarshid
King Faisal Hospital Launches Energy Efficiency Initiative
King Faisal Hospital in the Holy Capital, a member of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Cluster, has partnered with the National Energy Efficiency Services Company (Tarshid) to launch an initiative aimed at rationalizing electrical energy consumption and increasing energy efficiency.
The initiative is part of the hospital’s efforts to contribute to achieving the goals of Vision 2030, specifically in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency.
Upgrading to Energy-Saving Technology
The hospital has replaced its traditional lighting systems with energy-saving LED technology, resulting in the replacement of over 25,000 light fixtures.
In addition, more than 900 motion sensors have been installed in hospital buildings, facilities, and corridors, which are environmentally friendly and contribute to achieving stability and increasing operating efficiency.
Achieving Vision Goals
This initiative is part of the hospital’s efforts to achieve the vision goals aimed at improving the quality of life and supporting the national economy.
Expected Outcomes
The initiative is expected to achieve several goals, including reducing waste in electricity consumption, contributing to 25% availability, increasing electrical energy efficiency, and protecting the environment by reducing carbon emissions.
