Shinsuke Nakamura Crowned United States Champion at WWE Survivor Series 2023

Shinsuke Nakamura has become a three-time WWE United States Champion. He won the title at Survivor Series: WarGames by pinning LA Knight. This victory came shortly after Nakamura’s return to WWE, where he adopted a more sinister persona and targeted Knight.

During the match, Nakamura raked Knight’s eyes before executing a reverse DDT on the steel connecting the two rings. He secured the win with his signature move, the Kinshasa.

LA Knight had held the United States Championship since defeating Logan Paul at SummerSlam in August. Commentary noted that Knight seemed off during the match, likely due to Nakamura’s psychological tactics.

Prior to this victory, Nakamura’s last title reign was with the Intercontinental Championship from 2021 to 2022. He had not held the U.S. title in nearly six years. Although Nakamura was away from WWE television for several months, he continued to perform at house shows. He returned to TV on November 15 during an episode of SmackDown.
