Shinzo Abe Ivorian-Japanese Friendship Exchange inaugurated – Togotimes
Ivory Coast has established phase 2 of the Shinzo Abe Ivorian-Japanese Friendship exchange construction. The ceremony will take place on August 30, 2024, at the Solibra roundabout, in the community of Treichville, Tiémoko Meyliet Koné. It is chaired by the Vice President of the Republic in the presence of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Sport and the Living Environment, Robert Beugré Mambé and several other members of the government.
After 36 months of work, the highest exchange in the city of Abidjan is a gift from the Japanese government. It is 17 meters high.
The work, 760 meters long and 9.7 meters wide, cost 25 billion FCfa, the same amount as for the first phase. This brings the overall cost of both phases to 50 billion FCfa. The first phase, which began in November 2016, was completed on 16 December 2019.
This work is a major development for mobility in the southern area of Abidjan, thereby improving the flow of traffic and contributing to the decoupling of the intersection.
For Meyliet Tiémoko Koné, this interchange is part of President Ouattara’s ambition to provide Abidjan with modern infrastructure. The aim is to reduce traffic congestion during peak hours and boost economic activities.
The vice president revealed that about 1,000 billion FCFA have been mobilized for road infrastructure in the Abidjan District. He announced that other projects will complete these developments. The metro line 1, the commissioning of the BRT and the development of lagoon transport are designed to completely simplify traffic in Greater Abidjan.
