Japanese Actress Haruna Kojima Attacked by Taiwanese Man in Shibuya
Japanese actress Haruna Kojima was attacked by a 40-year-old Taiwanese man at an intersection outside Shibuya Station after attending a photo album event at a shop in Shibuya, Tokyo on Monday evening.
36-year-old Kojima Haruna recently launched a new photo album and held an event at Tsutaya in Shibuya to meet fans. After the show ended around 9 p.m., Kojima was grabbed by a foreigner and thrown down as he left the store, Japanese media reports said. Employees of Kojima Haruna’s management company immediately caught the man and called the police for help.
The Foreigner’s Motive
The Japanese Metropolitan Police said the foreign man in his 40s involved in the case said during the investigation that he only wanted to hug Harina Kojima and had no intention of attacking. Police said the man may have been lying in wait in Shibuya for some time to carry out the attack and are investigating the motive for the crime.
Fuji News Network reported that the suspect is a 42-year-old international student at a Taiwanese language school.
