A disturbing ‌case of child abuse has come to light in the‍ Malkara district of ⁤Tekirdağ, Turkey. A mother, identified as BY, took her daughter Sıla‍ Y to the Malkara State Hospital on August 2, claiming that the child had been injured after falling from a⁣ TV unit at a neighbor’s house.

However, upon examination,⁤ doctors found that Sıla Y had suffered a brain⁣ hemorrhage and had bruises on her body,⁣ indicating that she had been subjected to physical violence. ⁤The child was immediately referred to the Tekirdağ City Hospital İsmail Fehmi Cumalıoğlu for further treatment.

After undergoing emergency surgery, Sıla Y was taken to the intensive care unit, where her life was reported to be‌ in danger. ⁣The hospital also sent DNA samples taken from the child to the⁢ Tekirdağ Forensic Medicine Institute for examination.

The Tekirdağ Provincial Directorate of Family and ‌Social Services launched an investigation into‌ the incident and‌ took the family’s other 5-year-old daughter into custody. The directorate ⁢also filed a criminal complaint ⁤against the mother and stepfather.

The Tekirdağ Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has launched a separate investigation into the incident and has made a confidentiality decision. The ⁤police⁢ have also taken the mother and another person ‌into custody for questioning.

The mother, Bakiye Yeniçeri, was arrested in court for ‘child neglect’ after her procedures with the police. The ⁤incident has ⁤sparked widespread outrage, with a crowd gathering in front of ‍the court to protest.

The police have taken⁤ precautions to maintain order and have pacified the crowd. The Provincial Police Chief, Ahmet Metin Turanlı, has ‌also been following the developments in the case.

As part of the investigation, the ⁤prosecutor’s ⁤office has requested a statement from the family’s neighbor’s child, who is under 18 ​years old.
