Dong Bingxuan Announces Retirement Due to Career Plans
(Central News Agency reporter Xie Jingwen, Taipei, 4th) Dong Bingxuan, the 26-year-old outfielder of the Chinese National Vocational and Technical College Dragons, is expected to retire before the Taipei Arena home game on the 17th due to his career plans.
Dong Bingxuan failed to participate in the middle school draft in 2019. He was drafted again in 2020 and was selected by the Dragons in the 8th round. He made his high school debut on August 6, 2021, but never had a consistent opportunity to play in the first team.
Dong Bingxuan has played the most games in his career so far in 2022. That year, he played in 41 games, totaling 126 at-bats and 27 hits, including 2 home runs.
Wei Chuan Dragons issued a team announcement today, “Outfielder Dong Bingxuan has asked the team to voluntarily retire due to his career plans. After sincere discussions, the team has given his blessing. In addition to expressing recognition of Bingxuan’s serious hard work, he also thanked Weiquanlong for his contributions over the past four years.”
Dong Bingxuan played in the first team for 4 seasons in his junior career, playing a total of 68 games, with a 220% batting average and 44 hits with 5 home runs.
