Shocking Footage Exposed: Israeli Soldiers Caught Dumping Bodies on Rooftops, White House Condemns ‘Disturbing’ Video
Israeli Soldiers Accused of Dumping Palestinian Bodies on Rooftops
Multiple Media Witnesses Describe Disturbing Scene in West Bank Town of Kabatiya
International media reporters witnessed and filmed Israeli soldiers throwing three Palestinian bodies from a rooftop during a military operation in the West Bank town of Kabatiya, near Jenin, on September 19. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with the White House describing the video as “disturbing” and “abominable.”
The incident occurred in the town of Qabatiya, where the Israeli army has been conducting large-scale attacks since late August, resulting in the deaths of dozens of people, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The Israeli army claimed it was carrying out a “counter-terrorism” operation in the area, during which soldiers shot and killed four militants.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has launched an investigation into the incident, describing it as “serious” and “inconsistent with the values of the IDF and the expectations of IDF soldiers.” The IDF has declined to comment on whether the soldiers involved are being investigated.
John Kirby, spokesman for the White House National Security Council, expressed deep concern over the incident, saying, “If it is confirmed to be true, it clearly depicts the abominable and vile behavior of professional soldiers.” The United States has contacted Israel about the matter and asked for more details.
The Associated Press reported that one of its reporters witnessed the incident, but the agency could not immediately confirm the identity or whereabouts of the bodies, nor the death toll from the Israeli attack. Other media outlets reported that a bulldozer attempted to demolish the house to retrieve the bodies, but failed. Israeli soldiers then kicked and pushed, throwing three bodies off a roof, and a fourth body was thrown from a neighboring roof.
International law requires combat soldiers to ensure that the bodies of the dead, including those of enemy combatants, are properly handled. Shawan Jabarin, director of the Palestinian human rights group Haqq, described the video as “shocking but not surprising,” saying that the Israeli army rarely prosecutes soldiers in cases of harming Palestinians.
The incident has raised concerns about the treatment of Palestinian bodies by the Israeli military and the need for accountability and transparency in investigations into such incidents.
