Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Memoir Reveals Plan to Send Troops to the Netherlands for COVID Vaccines
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has revealed in his upcoming memoir, “Unleashed,” that he discussed a plan with senior British generals in March 2021 to send troops to the Netherlands to seize COVID vaccines.
According to an excerpt from the book, the plan involved sending a team to the Netherlands on a commercial flight and another team to cross the channel in a rigid inflatable boat under the cover of darkness. The two teams would then meet at their destination, use military force to seize the vaccines, and transport them back to the UK.
The plan was reportedly considered due to a dispute between the EU and the UK over AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine. Johnson claimed that the EU had “malice and resentment” towards the UK because its own vaccine rollout was slower.
Johnson wrote that the EU wanted to prevent the UK from getting five million doses of the vaccine, despite showing no sign of wanting to use the vaccine themselves. He also claimed that the vaccines “legally belonged to the UK and were something we urgently needed.”
However, the plan was ultimately not approved, and the vaccines were not sent to the UK. Johnson has described the plan as “crazy” and acknowledged that it would have been impossible to carry out without being discovered by the authorities.
Johnson’s Near-Death Experience with COVID-19
In his memoir, Johnson also revealed that he believed he might have died from COVID-19 in April 2020 without the “skills and experience” of medical staff. He was sent to the intensive care unit for treatment and has praised the medical staff who cared for him.
Johnson revealed that he tried not to sleep on the first night after being admitted to the ICU due to fear of never waking up again. He has since paid tribute to the UK healthcare system and the medical staff who saved his life.
