Mexico City, Mexico – A brazen daylight shooting sent shockwaves through the upscale Plaza Miyana shopping center in Mexico City’s Polanco neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. The incident, which occurred around 4:10 p.m., left one person dead and sparked a massive police response.

According to initial reports, the shooting took place inside the Bajío restaurant, located on the first floor of the plaza. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as masked assailants opened fire on a diner, striking them multiple times. The victim, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The brazen attack sent shoppers and employees scrambling for cover, transforming the usually bustling plaza into a scene of panic and fear.
“It was terrifying,” said one witness who wished to remain anonymous. “We heard the gunshots and everyone just started running. People were screaming, it was complete chaos.”
