Six People Wounded in Brazen Daylight Attack
NEW YORK – A mother and her 12-year-old daughter were among six people injured in a brazen shooting in the Bronx on Monday afternoon. The incident, which unfolded around 5:00 p.m. at a convenience store on White Plains Road, has left the community shaken.
According to NYPD Interim Chief John Chell, two gunmen opened fire in the middle of the street and inside the crowded store, striking six victims.”This evening, in the Gun Hill section of the Bronx, we had a callous and ruthless attack by two shooters who opened fire in the middle of the street and inside a convenience store full of people, striking six individuals, including a 40-year-old mother and her 12-year-old daughter who were used as human shields by the intended targets of the shooting,” Chell stated.
The mother and daughter were inside the store when the shooting began. Police say one of the gunmen used the mother as a shield during the exchange of gunfire.
Four men, ranging in age from 18 to 21, were also injured in the shooting. All six victims are currently in stable condition.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the NYPD is actively investigating the incident.
This incident marks another instance of gun violence plaguing New York City, raising concerns about public safety and the prevalence of firearms.

Apparently, the mother and daughter were inside the store when the shooting started. One of the gunmen grabbed the mother and used her body to protect himself while exchanging gunfire with someone else.
