Gloucester Township, NJ – A new ShopRite opened its doors on December 7, 2025, at Cherrywood Plaza, replacing the nearby Laurel Hill location. The 85,000-square-foot supermarket features an array of amenities, including an indoor café, an Asian Wokery & Sushi Bar, and an international cheese department, according to Zallie Family Markets, the store’s operator.
The grand opening celebration included a DJ, face painters, caricature portraits, juggling stilt walkers, magicians, balloon art, and a visit from Santa Claus and his reindeer. Free samples from Zallie’s Fresh Kitchen were also available in the deli section.
The new ShopRite is located in the space formerly occupied by Kmart, which closed in 2017. Lynmar Builders, a Westville-based construction company, oversaw the building of the new store.
Easter Shopping Hours
As Easter approaches on April 5, 2026, shoppers in South Jersey are advised to check store hours before heading out for last-minute supplies. While most major grocery chains, including ShopRite, are expected to remain open on Easter Sunday, some may have modified hours. It’s recommended to call the specific store location to confirm their holiday schedule.

According to a report from the Burlington County Times, several stores are expected to be open on Easter Sunday, including Ace Hardware, Acme, Barnes & Noble, Bass Pro Shops, Big Lots, BJs Wholesale Club, CVS, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Fresh Market, GameStop, Home Depot, IKEA, Old Navy, Petco, PetSmart, Royal Farms, Save-A-Lot, 7-Eleven, Sephora, ShopRite (with some locations potentially closed), Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Walgreens, Walmart, and Wawa.
Other Retail and Restaurant Options
In addition to grocery stores, a variety of retail stores and restaurants are also anticipated to be open on Easter Sunday. These include Applebee’s, Bahama Breeze, Benihana, Bob Evans, Bonefish Grill, Boston Market, Brio Italian Grille, Buffalo Wild Wings, Burger King, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Chili’s, Cracker Barrel, Dairy Queen, Denny’s, Domino’s, Dunkin’, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Famous Dave’s, Firebirds Wood-Fired Grill, Five Guys, Fleming’s Steakhouse, IHOP, Jimmy John’s, KFC, LongHorn Steakhouse, Maggiano’s, McDonald’s, Olive Garden, and Outback Steakhouse.
However, shoppers are still encouraged to verify hours with individual locations, as some businesses may be closed on Good Friday leading up to Easter Sunday.
