Should Seniors Get Vaccinated to Prevent the Virus?

The spread of⁣ has raised alerts among health authorities, ‍due to the sustained​ increase in infections and deaths ‍ associated with this viral disease.

According to official data ⁣from the Ministry of⁤ Health, as of⁤ January ⁤19, 2026, 7,168 cases ‌of measles have been confirmed in ⁣Mexico, as well as 24 deaths related‍ to this condition. These figures are part of ‍the Daily Report on the Measles Outbreak, prepared by the General Directorate of Epidemiology.

The first cases of⁣ measles were detected in 2025 in the state of Chihuahua, where it was identified that ‌a significant portion of the patients did ‌not have ​a​ complete vaccination⁢ schedule or ​had never received‌ the vaccine against this virus.

Health ⁢authorities indicated ‌that adults aged 20 to 39 should start or complete their vaccination schedule, notably those who do ‍not remember being vaccinated in childhood or‍ do not have official proof.
