Lights, Camera, Rockstar: ‘Interview With the Vampire’ Season 3 in Production
Lestat is hitting the stage.production for Season 3 of Interview With the Vampire is officially underway,AMC announced June 20,revealing the first photo from the set.
The series shared the update with a photo of a clapperboard, guitar, microphone and tambourine, hinting at the musical direction of the season.Showrunner Rolin Jones confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 that the season woudl adapt The Vampire Lestat, in which Lestat becomes a world-famous rockstar. Jones also revealed at the ATX TV Festival that Lestat’s tour will have 50 stops, with season 3 picking up around stop 33.

The rockstar Lestat teaser, revealed at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024, showed Sam Reid as Lestat with a new look. Jones said he already has 16 songs from composer Daniel Hart for the musical season. The tour is Lestat’s response to Louis and Daniel’s Interview With the Vampire memoir.
The clapperboard features music notes cascading into lines,reflecting a rockstar’s lifestyle. Craig Zisk, who directed Season 2’s premiere and fifth episode, is directing the Season 3 premiere.

The Vampire Lestat, published in 1985, has never been fully adapted. The 2002 film Queen of the Damned included elements of the novel, but AMC’s adaptation will be the first true adaptation of the best-selling novel.
Dan mcdermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, said in June 2024 that the show has exceeded expectations. He added that he looks forward to seeing where the creative team takes the series.
