The women’s⁢ doubles pair of Kim Hye-jeong ​(Samsung Life Insurance) and Jeong Na-eun (Hwasun County ⁤Office) advanced to​ the semifinals of the China Open Badminton ‍Championships.

The pair of Kim Hye-jeong and Jeong ⁢Na-eun won the women’s doubles quarterfinals of the⁤ 2024 China Open Badminton Championships (World Tour Super 1000) ⁣held ‍at the Changzhou Olympic Sports⁣ Center Stadium in ⁢China on the ​20th.

The 11th-ranked pair of Kim Hye-jeong and Jeong Na-eun defeated ⁢the 110th-ranked‍ pair⁤ of Teng Chun-sun and Yang ⁢Chu-yeon (Taiwan) 2-0 ‌in the quarterfinals. It was their ⁣second consecutive win following their victory⁤ at the Hong Kong Open.

In Game 1, the ⁤Kim Hye-jeong-Jung Na-eun pair took a big lead early on with consecutive points, widening the gap to 14:6. After that, they lost consecutive points to 16:13 and 18:16, but the Kim Hye-jeong-Jung Na-eun pair held⁢ on to a ⁣2- and 3-point⁢ lead and ‌won‍ 21:18.

The second game was⁣ a close match.⁣ Especially in the⁢ middle, the match was tight‌ with many⁢ reversals and reversals, but the Kim Hye-jeong-Jeong Na-eun pair scored 3 points in a⁣ row to achieve a dramatic ⁣victory with a score of 21:19.

The pair of Kim Hye-jeong and ‍Jeong ⁤Na-eun will face the⁢ 19th-ranked pair of Li Yi-jing and Luo Shumin (China) in the semifinals, aiming to advance to the⁢ finals.

Meanwhile,‌ the⁣ women’s doubles pair of Baek Ha-na (MG Saemaul Geumgo) – Lee So-hee (Incheon International Airport), ranked ‍2nd, and​ Shin Seung-chan (Pocheon City Hall) -⁢ Lee Yu-rim ​(Samsung​ Life Insurance), ranked 20th, both lost to the Chinese team in the‍ quarterfinals and failed to advance to the medal round.
