Shyne Announces 25th Anniversary ‘Shyne’ Album Show in Brooklyn + Ticket Info

Shyne Announces Brooklyn Homecoming Concert Celebrating 25 Years of Debut Album

Brooklyn native Shyne is returning to Kings Theatre on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 9 PM EST for a special performance marking both a homecoming and the 25th anniversary of his self-titled debut album.

The concert will be a celebration of the album that propelled Shyne to prominence in the hip-hop world. Released by Bad Boy Records on September 26, 2000, Shyne debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and was later certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

“It’s surreal to return to the stage in the neighborhood where I grew up for a night of performances celebrating classic raw hip hop,” Shyne said in a statement.

The album featured standout tracks like “Bad Boyz” and “Bonnie & Shyne,” both collaborations with Barrington Levy, and “That’s Gangsta,” songs that became emblematic of the early 2000s New York rap sound.

Shyne’s career trajectory has been marked by both success and adversity. While incarcerated for his involvement in the 1999 Club New York shooting, he released his sophomore album, Godfather Buried Alive, in August 2004, following a reported $3 million deal with Def Jam Recordings. That album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, selling 158,000 copies in its first week.

More recently, Shyne’s life story was chronicled in the documentary The Honorable Shyne, released in November 2024. The film details his rise to fame, his legal challenges, and his subsequent transition into public service.

Following his music career and time in prison, Shyne entered politics in Belize, following in the footsteps of his father, Dean Barrow. He served as Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives but lost his bid for re-election last year.

The upcoming concert follows an announcement made in September, where Shyne discussed plans for a 25th-anniversary tour while appearing on Cam’ron’s show, Talk with Flee.

Pre-sale tickets for the Kings Theatre performance are available starting February 12 at 10 AM EST using the code ROSE. General on-sale begins Friday, February 13 at 10 AM EST. Tickets can be purchased here.
