Sigenergy Technology Co. Ltd., a Shanghai-based developer of AI-enabled energy systems, has passed its listing hearing with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The company is seeking an initial public offering to raise $562 million, according to reports from Yahoo Finance.
The approval for the listing follows a period of rapid growth for the company, which focuses on the global distributed energy storage market. Sigenergy intends to use the capital from the offering to fund research investment and further its international expansion efforts.
Rapid Financial Growth and Margins
Financial data provided in the company’s prospectus reveals a significant revenue surge. Sigenergy’s revenue rose from Rmb 58 million in 2023 to Rmb 9 billion in 2025, representing an increase of more than 150-fold within two years.
The company also reported strong performance during the first nine months of 2025, with revenue reaching RMB 5.64 billion and a net profit of RMB 1.89 billion. Earlier in its growth phase, the company recorded approximately ¥700 million in revenue during the first three quarters of 2024.
Profitability metrics for Sigenergy have climbed sharply. Gross margins increased from 31.3 per cent to over 50 per cent, while adjusted net margins reached 35.9 per cent in 2025. These figures place the firm among the most profitable companies in the energy storage segment, which is typically characterized by margin pressure and price competition.
AI Integration and Product Ecosystem
Sigenergy attributes its financial results to a strategy that integrates artificial intelligence across its product ecosystem. This approach allows the company to maintain operational efficiency while commanding higher pricing.
The core of the company’s offering is SigenStor, a patented five‑in‑one
stackable system. This single enclosure merges several energy components, including:
- Hybrid inverter
- Battery modules
- EV-ready DC charger
- Smart gateway
- AI-driven energy-management software
Unlike many residential energy brands, Sigenergy engineers its platform natively for three-phase properties, making it suitable for energy-hungry appliances and larger Western Power connections.
Corporate History and Listing Path
Founded in 2022 in Shanghai, Sigenergy was established by Xu Yingtong, a former executive at Huawei. The company’s path to a public listing has involved multiple attempts. the most recent filing on March 19, 2026, marked its third attempt to secure a Hong Kong IPO.
The company first filed its prospectus with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in February 2025, less than three years after its inception. After previous lapses, the company passed its listing hearing by March 31, 2026.
Global Market Expansion
Sigenergy has expanded its reach beyond China, establishing distribution agreements across North America, Europe, and Australia. In these regions, the company maintains local stock through national wholesalers.
The company’s expansion aligns with a broader global trend toward decarbonization and the integration of renewable energy sources. Industry analyses indicate that the global energy storage market is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate exceeding 20% over the next decade.
