Quinn Simmons, riding for Lidl-Trek, secured an emotional ​stage 3 victory at the Tour de Suisse, dedicating his win to the memory⁢ of Gino Mäder. Mäder tragically died from injuries sustained‍ in a crash during the 2023 Tour de ⁢Suisse. Simmons’ gesture of pointing to the sky as he crossed⁢ the finish line served as a poignant tribute.

The stage, which ran 190 kilometers from⁢ Aaru to Heiden, saw Simmons break away from a six-man ⁣group with 20 kilometers remaining. He maintained⁣ his lead ‍to claim a solo victory, finishing⁤ 18 seconds ahead of his nearest​ competitor. Neilson⁤ Powless made a late attempt to close ​the gap, ‍but Simmons proved too strong.
