Simulating Reality: Xiamen Daily News Building Unveils Cutting-Edge Public Opinion Drill Room

Xiamen.com (Haixi Morning Post correspondent Huang Jiajia, reporter Lei Yu) Yesterday morning, a series of activities to launch the Public Opinion Rehearsal Room in the News Building of Xiamen Daily were held on the 7th floor of the News Building.

The event agenda included four parts: expert appointment, cooperation signing, product launch, and public welfare lectures. Leaders of Xiamen Daily, think tank expert representatives, representatives of cooperative construction units, and some public opinion leaders of party and government agencies and public institutions participated in the event.

In the future, the public opinion exercise room in the Xiamen Daily News Building will serve as the main venue for the Xiamen Daily Public Opinion Research Institute’s “Internet Public Opinion Simulation Practice Exercise”. In the future, a series of scenario-based and intelligent public opinion exercises will be carried out here to help leading cadres of party and government agencies and enterprises and institutions further understand the public opinion ecology under the new situation and comprehensively improve their emergency response and public opinion handling capabilities.

At the think tank expert appointment ceremony, the relevant responsible comrades of the Xiamen Daily Party Committee issued appointment certificates to the expert representatives. Xie Qingguo, a think tank expert representative and vice dean of the School of Journalism and Communication of Xiamen University, believes that the opening of the public opinion exercise room in the News Building has actively responded to the expectations of journalists, promoted the combination of theory and practice, made the theory more “down-to-earth”, and contributed to the development of various undertakings in Xiamen.

A relevant person in charge of the Xiamen Daily Public Opinion Research Institute said that the opening of the public opinion rehearsal room in the News Building is the first step for the Xiamen Daily Public Opinion Research Institute to move from outside the island to inside the island and achieve cross-island development. It is also a key step in serving the economic and social development of Xiamen.

The signing ceremony for the joint construction of the “Training Base” of Xiamen Customs Education and Training Base, the signing ceremony for the “Strategic Partner” of Midu Technology Co., Ltd., and the signing ceremony for the “Teaching Practice Base” of Xiamen University Tan Kah Kee College were also held on site. In the future, the think tank expert team and the co-construction units will maintain in-depth exchanges with the Public Opinion Research Institute, jointly commit to the cause of public opinion research, and promote the positive development of the Public Opinion Research Institute.

It is worth mentioning that two products, the Public Opinion Research Institute’s Public Opinion “Script Sand” Simulation Drill and Reporting Data Mind School 4.0, were also released at the event. Among them, the Public Opinion Research Institute’s Public Opinion “Script Sand” Simulation Drill is a new product jointly created by the Public Opinion Research Institute and Chongqing Hualong Network Information Service Co., Ltd.

In addition, the event also set up a public lecture session on “Prevention of Content Security Risks in News Propaganda and New Media Operations”. Feng Binmu, a lecturer at the Public Opinion Research Institute of Xiamen Daily, shared with propaganda cadres how to conduct risk assessment and how to avoid the generation of public opinion from three aspects: security risks of political content, risks of propaganda content orientation, and risks of infringement of propaganda content.
