The contribution, equivalent to approximately S$127,600, is intended to assist civilians impacted by the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which has drawn Lebanon into broader regional hostilities. According to Lebanese authorities cited in the reports, more than 2,400 people have been killed and over a million displaced since the escalation began.
Lebanese government estimates also indicate that more than 62,000 housing units have been destroyed in the country due to Israeli attacks during the latest war with Hezbollah. In its statement, Singapore’s MFA urged all parties to adhere to the existing ceasefire, engage in negotiations for a lasting resolution, and prioritize the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure. The government emphasized its support for diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and humanitarian relief.
The pledge reflects Singapore’s ongoing commitment to international humanitarian cooperation, particularly in response to crises affecting vulnerable populations in conflict zones. The funds will be channeled through Jordan-led initiatives to ensure coordinated delivery of essential aid to those in need across Lebanon.
