Samanta Tina Describes Unpleasant Sauna Ritual Experience

Latvian singer Samanta Tina recently recounted a less-than-pleasant experience she had during a sauna ritual in Latvia. While visiting Aina in the studio, Tina shared details of the encounter, highlighting her discomfort.
Sauna rituals are a popular practice in Latvia, frequently enough sought for relaxation and well-being. However, Tina’s experience deviated considerably from the expected tranquility.
Tina explained,”I had this experience… a one-on-one sauna ritual. It was given to me with good intentions, because I wasn’t at my best. I was holding onto everything and not letting go, so people suggested this ritual.”

She continued, “And it was terrible! It felt like the bathhouse attendant wanted to ‘get into me,’ like a drill, constantly asking, ‘What’s tiring you? What’s worrying you?’ I wasn’t ready for that at all! I was in the sauna, feeling vulnerable and naked, with all my fears… I had such an emotional eruption afterward; I was so angry!”
Tina expressed feeling pressured during the ritual. “It was something I didn’t want to do, but no one asked me. It was like, ‘you’ve come here, so you have to go through with it; I’ll help you!’ To me, that feels inhumane. If you’re a guru offering these practices, you need to sense what a person needs when they walk in.”

She elaborated, “What does that person need? Maybe they don’t need the ritual at all. maybe they just need warm tea and a blanket. It felt like everyone who came had to prove their skills against their will. It was really unpleasant.”
