COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Mountain West Conference recognized six San Diego State track and field student-athletes for thier outstanding performances, naming them to the 2025 mountain West Indoor Track & Field All-Conference Team. The league made the announcement Wednesday, following the MW Indoor Championships held last weekend in Albuquerque, New Mexico.The all-conference selections are awarded to the top three finishers in each individual and relay event at the championships.
The honored Aztecs include gold medalists Shaquena Foote (200 and 400 meters), Jenna Fee Feyerabend (pentathlon), Hannah Waller (long jump), and Charlize James (60-metre hurdles), along with Jada Pierre (60 hurdles) and Sophia wolf (800). Their combined efforts led SDSU to a runner-up finish at the meet, accumulating 107 points, second only to the host team, New Mexico (136.5).
Shaquena Foote’s Dominance
Shaquena Foote showcased her exceptional talent by capturing gold in both the 200 and 400-meter events. She set a Mountain West record and indoor program record in the 400, finishing in 51.48 seconds. Her victory was decisive, winning by 1.10 seconds over the second-place finisher. this marks Foote’s second consecutive season securing the indoor gold in this event.
Foote continued her impressive performance by winning the 200 with a time of 22.89, marking the second-fastest indoor 200 in school history. As a result of her outstanding achievements, Foote was named the MW Track Performer of the Meet.

Jenna Fee Feyerabend’s Pentathlon Victory
Jenna Fee Feyerabend secured her victory in the pentathlon on Thursday, amassing 4,183 points, which is the second-highest point total of her career.
Both Foote (400) and Feyerabend (pentathlon) have qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for March 14-15 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The announcement of their qualification was made Tuesday night.
Hannah Waller’s Leap to Gold
In the long jump,Hannah Waller outperformed the competition with a leap of 6.38 meters (20 feet, 11 ¼ inches). This jump was not only a collegiate best for Waller but also the second-best indoor mark in program history. The impressive jump occurred on her fourth attempt.
Charlize James and Jada Pierre in Hurdles
Charlize James celebrated her first career MW indoor championship by winning the 60-meter hurdles in 8.24 seconds.
jada Pierre followed closely behind James, securing second place in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.32, the ninth-fastest time in school history. Sophia wolf also contributed to the team’s success with a second-place finish in the 800, clocking in at 2:09.22.

The Aztecs are set to commence their outdoor season on Friday at the Ben Brown Invitational in Fullerton, California.
