Val di Fiemme, Italy - Austrian ski jumper Eva Pinkelnig sustained a potential serious knee injury during teh opening competition of the Summer Grand Prix in Val di Fiemme on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Pinkelnig fell after landing her jump but remarkably remained in the competition.
If the fears of a serious knee injury are confirmed, Pinkelnig’s Olympic season would be prematurely ended. The 2026 Winter Olympics are scheduled to be held in Milan and Cortina d’ampezzo, Italy, from February 6 to February 22, 2026 ([Official Olympics Website](https://olympics.com/en/olympic-winter-games/milano-cortina-2026)).
