Stuart Skinner Embraces Stanley Cup Final Rematch with Florida Panthers

Edmonton, Alberta—Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner has turned the page on last season’s Stanley Cup Final defeat.
Skinner, now 26, admitted that he initially suppressed the pain of losing Game 7. “Internally, there was
something buried,” skinner said, explaining that confronting the loss took time. Now, he believes that
experience has prepared him to compete for the Stanley Cup this season.
Skinner emphasized the team’s changed mindset heading into the rematch against the florida Panthers. “We’ve
already gone through it,” he said, referring to the experience of losing the final game.the Edmonton native,
who grew up cheering for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, acknowledged the unique pressure of playing in a Canadian market.
The Oilers’ heartbreaking loss to the Panthers, after rallying from a 3-0 deficit, was especially tough.
