Lise-Andrée Massé, a nutritionist and education manager at ANEB, said there is a direct correlation between social media exposure and a decline in body image among young people. She said about 80% of young people report being influenced by social media regarding their eating habits and related behaviors.
massé views TikTok’s actions as a positive step. “It sends a message that thes accounts are banned,” she said. “It doesn’t prevent you from seeing the videos, but it helps you understand that something is not normal.”
