Villach, Austria – Eva Pinkelnig soared to victory in a nail-biting women’s ski jumping World Cup event in Villach on monday, tying the record for most World Cup wins by an Austrian female ski jumper.

The competition was a back-and-forth affair, with the top seven jumpers separated by less than five points after the first round. Pinkelnig, trailing Slovenia’s Nika Prevc by a fraction of a point, unleashed a monster jump of 97 meters in the final round, securing her the win with a total score of 244.1 points.

“It was a tough competition today,” Pinkelnig said. “The wind conditions were challenging, but I’m really happy with my performance.”
