2024 FIBA Open 3×3 Beijing Open Tournament Concludes
The 2024 FIBA Open 3×3 Beijing Open Tournament in Yunhe Business District came to an end on September 22, marking the conclusion of all four stops of this year’s event.
The event was hosted by the International Basketball Federation China Region, and organized by the Beijing Sports Federation Secretariat, Beijing Sports Industry Association, and Beijing Basketball Association. The tournament featured four sub-station competitions and one final, with the Canal Business District Station serving as the last chance for each team to compete for a place in the finals.
The two-day competition was held next to the historic “Three Temples and One Pagoda” in Tongzhou District, which carries the rich history and cultural connotations of the district. The event brought together modern sports and ancient cultural relics, offering a unique experience for contestants and spectators alike.
The organizers chose this location to allow participants to appreciate the unique cultural heritage of the canal in addition to the competition. The Canal Business District plans to introduce water sports events, such as kayaking and dragon boat racing, as well as fun activities like vertical marathons and orienteering in the future.
After the first day of group stage competition, 8 teams advanced to the knockout stage on the 22nd to decide the champion. The top 4 teams in this station won the last 4 tickets to the finals.
The top four teams in each station, a total of 16 teams, will gather at the Olympic Park from October 5 to 6 to compete for the annual championship.
