The 2024 China Basketball Open (CBO League) was launched in Beijing on September 10, marking a significant milestone in the country’s basketball history. Founded in 2005, the CBO League has become a national large-scale mass basketball event, known for its high standards, large scale, and wide geographical span.
This year’s CBO League has been comprehensively upgraded in various aspects, including brand visual system, competition system design, event support, event communication, and business system. The upgrades aim to provide a better experience for players and spectators, and to make the event more popular and accessible to a wider audience.
Xu Jicheng, vice chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, emphasized the importance of the CBO League in promoting basketball in China. “Our goal is to allow more basketball fans to realize their basketball dreams on a common platform, make basketball more popular, and discover many good seedlings. At the same time, we will make the marketization and industrialization of Chinese basketball better. Basketball is not only for watching, but more for playing. In the process of playing, you can truly experience the fun of basketball.”

The 2024 China Basketball Open is hosted by the Chinese Basketball Association, with Shenzhen Basketball Sports (Beijing) Co., Ltd. as the organizer, and Huati Events (Beijing) Sports Management Co., Ltd. responsible for promotion and operation. The event will be held in 32 cities across the country, with players competing in preliminaries, regional competitions, national finals, and women’s championships to determine the national champions of the men’s and women’s groups.
