Slam Dunk Learning: Kariya Kira Classroom Scores Big with the Community
SeaHorses Mikawa Appreciation
On July 23rd, the “2024 Kariya Kirakira Classroom” took place at Kariya City Kariya Higashi Junior High School, featuring #32 Schaefer Avi Yuki, assistant coach Okubo Aiki, and U15 assistant coach Shimada Motoshi.
The Kariya Kirakira Classroom is an initiative aimed at elementary and junior high school students in Kariya City, focusing on sports classes that teach students the skills, fun, and importance of working hard towards their dreams.
During the event, participants practiced coordination and defense with Coach Okubo, handling with Coach Shimada, and dribbling, layups, and step shots with Schaefer.
Coach Okubo led the defense, while Coach Shimada handled the offense, working together with Schaefer to engage 38 students in an exciting basketball session.
Head coach Ryan Richman made a surprise appearance, creating a relaxed atmosphere for the students to enjoy playing basketball.
A question and answer session allowed participants to discuss basketball-related concerns and solutions, making the event a meaningful experience for all involved.
SeaHorses Mikawa remains committed to supporting the local community through various activities.
