A routine taxi ride turned frightening for Bratislava regional candidate Zuzana Krajčovičová, who says her driver endangered pedestrians and her own safety. Krajčovičová, representing the Right to Truth party, detailed the experience on social media, sparking renewed debate about the quality of taxi services in the capital.

She alleges he nearly hit pedestrians at crosswalks three times during the ride. “His driving was truly dangerous,” she wrote, adding that the issue extends beyond inconvenience to a direct threat to safety.
She noted the incident isn’t isolated. Concerns about taxi service quality have been growing, with reports of unlicensed drivers, inflated fares, and unsafe driving practices. The Bratislava city government has been considering stricter regulations for taxi services, including language proficiency requirements and increased inspections.
“We need to ensure that all taxi drivers operating in Bratislava are properly licensed, trained, and understand the rules of the road,” said city council member Ján Novák. “The safety of our citizens and visitors is paramount.”
Krajčovičová’s experience adds fuel to the call for reform. she plans to make transportation safety a key issue in her campaign for Bratislava regional governor.
