Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has been identified as the most deceptive politician in ⁣the country, according to ‌a recent survey conducted by ⁤360tka.sk in cooperation ⁢with Focus. The poll, carried out between July 7th and 13th, 2025, surveyed 1,032 respondents, offering a​ revealing snapshot of public perception regarding honesty in slovak politics.Let’s dive into the results and explore what this means for ⁢the current political landscape.

Who Slovaks ‍Believe Are the Biggest Liars

The ​survey allowed respondents to select up to three politicians they believed were the most dishonest, without being provided with a pre-defined list. This open-ended approach offers a more genuine⁤ reflection of public sentiment.

Here’s how the top four ranked:

Robert Fico (52%): ⁣The current Prime Minister topped the list,with‍ over half of those⁣ surveyed identifying him as the‍ most untrustworthy.
Igor Matovic (35%): The former Prime Minister came in second,receiving a significant 35% of the votes.
Michal Šimečka‍ (24%): Šimečka secured‌ the third position,with 24% of ⁢respondents expressing their ‍distrust.
Robert Kalinak (19%): The Minister‌ of Defense rounded out the top four, garnering 19% of the votes.

Following⁣ closely behind were andrej danko (17%), Matúš Šutaj Eštok (13%), Peter Pellegrini (11%), and‍ Jaroslav Naď (11%). Several other politicians – Martina Šimkovičová, Richard sulík, Branislav Gröhling, Veronika Remišová, Ľuboš Blaha, Tibor​ Gašpar,⁢ Rudolf Huliak, ‍and Jozef Pročko – each received between 3% and 8% of the responses.

How Different Voter Bases Perceive Deception

Interestingly, ‌perceptions of who is ‌a “liar” vary significantly depending on ⁣which ‌political party a person supports. The survey delved into these nuances, revealing some stark⁤ contrasts.

Progressive Slovakia (PS) ⁢Voters: An overwhelming 98% ​of PS voters identified Robert Fico as the biggest liar.
Direction-SSD Voters: ‌For supporters of Fico’s own party, igor Matovic was seen as the most deceptive⁢ (69%).
SD​ Voters: Matovic also‌ led among voters of the Social ​Democracy party (66%). Republic Voters: Similarly,‌ 55% of Republic⁣ voters pointed to Matovic as the biggest⁢ liar.
Slovakia Voters: ⁢ A resounding 94% ⁣of Slovakia voters believe Robert Fico is the⁢ most dishonest ‌politician.
Freedom and Solidarity Voters: ‌96% of Freedom and Solidarity voters share this view of ​Fico.
* Christian Democratic ‌Movement Voters: A significant 73%‍ of Christian Democratic Movement voters also consider Fico to be the ‍biggest liar.
