Shuangyu Sports Sponsors the 17th Guangzhou ”Mayor’s Cup” Badminton Series Competition
The 17th Guangzhou “Mayor’s Cup” Hong Kong Jockey Club Badminton Series Competition is set to take place in various districts of Guangzhou this month. Amidst the soaring prices of badminton, Shuangyu Sports, a renowned “Chinese time-honored brand” from Guangzhou, has stepped up to sponsor the balls for this year’s finals.
This year’s competition features five groups, including primary school, junior high school, secondary vocational school, high school, and college groups. The mixed men’s and women’s team competition has four groups, including youth, middle-aged, and elderly groups. The event is co-organized by the Guangzhou Sports Bureau, Guangzhou Education Bureau, and Guangzhou Sports Federation, with the Guangzhou Badminton Sports Management Center and Guangzhou Badminton Association serving as hosts.

Wu Huaqiang, chairman of Guangzhou Shuangyu Sports Culture Development Co., Ltd., stated that Shuangyu Golden Sparrow badminton has been the designated ball for the competition since its inception in 2007. The company’s sponsorship of the event aims to promote the brand and ensure the quality and quantity of the match balls.

By sponsoring the ”Mayor’s Cup”, Shuangyu Sports aims to increase brand awareness and familiarity among players. The company’s table tennis balls have recently gained recognition as match balls at the Paris Olympics and Paralympics.
