Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 ‍Targets Mid-Range Smartphones

Qualcomm has announced its latest mobile platform, the Snapdragon 7s gen 3, designed⁢ for​ mid-range smartphones. This system ⁣on a chip (SoC) aims to⁢ bring premium features to ⁣more affordable devices. The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 stands out with its ⁢upgraded CPU cores,⁣ enhanced AI processing, and improved ⁢power efficiency.

The ⁣Snapdragon 7s Gen‍ 3 incorporates Arm’s current-generation Cortex-A720 cores for both its prime and performance cores, with the prime core clocking up to 2.5GHz. Four Cortex-A520⁣ cores handle efficiency tasks, boosting up to 1.8GHz. Qualcomm touts a 20% ⁤betterment in CPU performance compared to the Snapdragon 7s ​Gen 2.

Graphics are managed by an Adreno GPU, with Qualcomm claiming a 40% performance increase ⁤over the previous generation. The SoC​ also includes a Hexagon NPU with INT4 support for low-precision client inference, enabling on-device LLM execution.Qualcomm anticipates a 30% improvement in AI performance.

The memory controller supports both LPDDR4X and LPDDR5 memory, offering ⁣bandwidths of 17GB/sec and 25.6GB/sec, ​respectively. Camera capabilities include a triple 12-bit ‍spectra ISP, supporting up to 64MP resolution in zero shutter ‌lag modes.The integrated Snapdragon 5G modem supports both Sub-6 and mmWave bands, with a maximum throughput of 2.9Gbps.
