Excellent Performance in National Institute of Environmental Research Evaluation
The Ulsan City Health and Environment Research Institute has received an ‘appropriate institution’ evaluation for its excellent performance in the ‘2024 Odor Field Proficiency Test’ hosted by the National Institute of Environmental Research.
This test aims to improve measurement and analysis capabilities for odorous substances and ensure accuracy and reliability of measurement and analysis results. It is conducted annually at approximately 100 odor measurement and analysis organizations across the country, including provincial and municipal health and environmental research institutes, environmental corporations, and measurement agencies.
The evaluation items increased by two from last year, to a total of eight items, including complex odors, volatile organic compounds (toluene, xylene, styrene), and aldehydes (acetaldehyde, propionaldehyde, butyraldehyde, n-valeraldehyde).
The Ulsan Health and Environment Research Institute received a ’satisfactory’ rating for all eight items in this test, scoring 100 points when calculated using the conversion score for each field’s institution evaluation.
An official from the National Institute of Environmental Research stated, “We will do our best to strengthen our analytical capabilities and improve the accuracy and reliability of our analysis results so that we can perform work in the field of odor that citizens can trust.”
