SNL Cold Open: Trump Meets Biden with Wild Cabinet Picks
The Saturday Night Live cold open featured Donald Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, in the Oval Office with President Joe Biden, portrayed by Dana Carvey. Trump discussed his plans for a cabinet filled with controversial figures.
“I am choosing the most epic cabinet ever,” said Trump. He described his picks as “dynamic, free-thinking, animal killing, sexually criminal, medically crazy people.”
Biden asked who Trump was considering. Trump replied he would choose Elon Musk and Matt Gaetz, calling it an “alien vs. predator” match.
Recently, Trump met Biden at the White House a few hours before announcing cabinet picks aimed at attracting attention, including Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence and Matt Gaetz as attorney general. Gaetz faces allegations involving a minor, which he denies, while Robert Kennedy Jr. continues to promote debunked claims about vaccines.
Biden commented on Trump’s choice of cabinet members, saying they were “wacko jackos” testing the Senate’s compliance. Trump agreed and said it was part of a smart plan he thought of first.
Sarah Sherman played Gaetz. She joked, “If anyone tries to break the law, I’ll tell them what I told my eyebrows — freeze!” Gaetz noted the timing of his confirmation process conflicts with girls’ volleyball season.
Alec Baldwin returned as Robert Kennedy Jr. He claimed that America needs him to teach health. He added, “I care deeply about a woman’s right to choose — to choose to give her child polio.” Baldwin’s Kennedy left abruptly, mentioning a dead dolphin in his car.
The skit blended satire and humor, highlighting the absurdity of political appointments.
