Snooki Polizzi Discovers Reason for Adoption on ‘Jersey Shore’

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, 37, connected with her birth mother for the first time on a recent episode of MTV’s “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,” finally learning the circumstances surrounding her adoption. The reality star, who was adopted from Chile at six months old by an Italian-American family, has spoken about her adoption previously.
Joined by castmate jwoww for support, Snooki spoke with her birth mother via video chat with a translator. She directly asked about the reason for her adoption.The translator conveyed that Snooki’s birth mother revealed her partner left upon learning of the pregnancy, leaving her without support and with adoption as her only option.
In a confessional filmed last year, Snooki admitted the significance of the moment. she told her birth mother she has lived “an amazing life.” When her birth mother asked if Snooki felt anger about the adoption, Snooki suggested thay continue the conversation by phone.
Despite initial nerves, Snooki greeted her birth mother in Spanish. JWoww jokingly added, “Hola! You sound like Dora the Explorer.”
The translator then relayed the birth mother’s apology for the situation and for placing Snooki for adoption. Overcome with emotion, Snooki’s birth mother admitted the decision had been difficult and that she had “never forgot” about Snooki, who then offered comfort.
Snooki shared that she was raised in New York by “loving parents” who “spoiled” her. She reflected on how her life unfolded becuase of the adoption. “Obviously, I wouldn’t even be here if she didn’t put me up for adoption,” Polizzi said. “I have amazing parents. I had a great childhood. And then meeting my roommates…And then meeting Jionni. And then having my kids.”
Polizzi informed her birth mother that she is married to Jionni LaValle and has three children: Lorenzo, 11, Giovanna, 10, and Angelo, 6. The translator conveyed that Snooki’s birth mother was happy to know she had a family and was doing well, expressing her love and happiness at speaking with her.
Following the emotional conversation, Polizzi said she felt ”happy” but acknowledged her birth mother was “still a stranger.” When JWoww asked if she would meet her in person, snooki remained uncertain.
“I’m just so content with my life and who my parents are, I don’t know where to go from here. My emotions are everywhere,” Snooki said.
