Snow Game Alert: Lake-Effect Snow Warning for Bills vs. 49ers Matchup
We may see another snow game on Sunday night. The National Weather Service (NWS) has extended the lake-effect snow warning in Buffalo until 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday. The Bills are scheduled to play the 49ers at 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday.
The NWS predicts an additional two to four feet of snow by Monday. They warn that “whiteout conditions are expected” and that travel could be very difficult or impossible in the heaviest snow areas.
The NFL has not postponed or moved the game yet. It may be too late to relocate the game to another city like Detroit. However, they could delay the kickoff to Monday or Tuesday. In December 2010, a blizzard forced a Sunday night game between the Vikings and Eagles to be rescheduled for Tuesday night.
Next Sunday, the Bills will play the Rams and the 49ers will host the Bears. Delaying the game may impact the teams’ preparation for Week 14.
