Snow​ Squalls Ease,But Cold Weather Lingers in Southwestern Ontario

London,Ontario – After a day ​of relentless snow squalls,southwestern Ontario is finally seeing some‌ relief. While ⁢the heaviest snowfall has passed, ‌residents are urged to remain⁣ cautious‌ as frigid temperatures and lingering snowdrifts continue to pose challenges.

“A snow squall warning remains in place for ‌gray-Bruce as those winds continue to gust over Lake Huron – you can see ‍heavy ‍bands of snowfall,” reported CTV’s‌ Reta Ismail. “that snow has eased off in ​parts of‌ London,especially in the east end,” she added,offering some reassurance to Londoners.

Even though the worst of‍ the storm appears to be over, the⁣ cold weather‌ is here to stay for the weekend.”Heading into tomorrow, the windchill will be a factor,” Ismail cautioned, “but the good news is the flurries will start to ease off as the wind ⁣shifts.”

Warmer temperatures are expected to return next week, bringing a‍ welcome reprieve from the wintery blast.

Several highways in the⁣ region are experiencing challenging⁣ conditions due to snow and reduced visibility. motorists are‌ urged to exercise extreme caution and check road conditions before traveling.

Highway 4: Partly snow covered from Elginfield to⁣ Arva, clear from ‌Arva​ north.
Highway 7: partly snow covered from Stratford to Elginfield.
Highway 9: Reduced visibility from Harriston to Kincardine.
Highway 21: Closed from Mill ​Road ⁢(Bayfield) to Zurich-Hensall Road (Saint Joseph) in⁣ Bluewater due to drifting and poor visibility. Also closed from⁣ Kincardine to Bruce⁣ Road 86. From Saint Joseph​ to 402, snow covered. north of goderich, reduced visibility.
