Aaron Sorkin is returning to the world of Facebook. He is set to write and direct “The Social Network Part II” for Sony pictures.The film will delve into the tech giant’s broader societal consequences.
Inspired by The Wall Street Journal’s “The Facebook Files” series, the sequel will examine Facebook’s impact on youth mental health and the spread of misinformation. The new film will also touch on the Jan.6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Sorkin won an Academy Award for his screenplay for the original 2010 film,wich chronicled Facebook’s founding. He will also produce the sequel alongside Todd Black, Peter Rice and Stuart Besser.
